Test a bad omen, says Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 18: Pakistan said India’s missile test on Saturday was a “bad omen” for peace in South Asia.

“We are not impressed by Indian tests but the world must take note of India’s continued intransigence and mad pursuit of nuclear and missile ambitions,” Information and Media Development Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told AFP.

The information minister said he deplored the test because it had been carried out at a time when the eyes of the world were focussed on the Iraqi crisis.

“India’s second missile test in less than two weeks is a bad omen for peace and stability in the region.

“India is going ahead with its feverish armament campaign in utter disregard of the world opinion in favour of peace,” he said.—AFP
