ISLAMABAD, Jan 18: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Amanullah Khan has opposed the president’s three-day visit to Moscow on the grounds that Pakistan will not get any support from Russia on the Kashmir issue.
Speaking at a news conference, he said the US would never mediate with India on Kashmir unless her own interests were well advanced in the region.
He said that unless there was a strategic change, Russia would not withdraw its support to India, and hence the endeavours to win Moscow’s favour at this point of time were useless.
Mr Amanullah told newsmen that a JKLF central executive meeting in Rawalpindi had decided to launch a month-long international-level drive on Feb 11, against the division of Kashmir.
Replying to a question about a reported move by the quarters concerned to expand the APHC by involving more Kashmiri organizations in it, he said his party would be willing to join the bloc.
He, however, said the APHC current leadership had failed to fulfil its original agenda of struggle for the right of self-determination to Kashmiris.
