Website formally launched

ABBOTTABAD, Jan 16: The website of Abbottabad Conservation Strategy (ACS) was formally launched by IUCN-ACS unit with 17 priority areas and sectors relating to the economic development opportunities for the district.

District coordination officer Jamil Ahmed, speaking on this occasion, stressed the need to adopt a a two-pronged approach so that the formulation of ACS and implementation of key recommendations should go hand in hand. He reiterated the commitment of the district government to introduce reforms in the development planning process as necessary for the effective implementation of the strategy.

The district Naib Nazim said that the ACS website would not only provide the necessary tools for the executing agencies to do the job, it would also help the donors to finalize their priorities for the development of the district.

Earlier, the meeting adopted a resolution that urgent steps would be taken for the restoration of the natural beauty of Abbottabad to promote its tourism potential.
