ISLAMABAD, Jan 16: The district magistrate on Thursday issued six orders under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) banning blasting in the district, carrying of fire arms, holding of rallies and demonstrations, publication and distribution of objectionable literature, delivering of objectionable speeches, unnecessary use of loudspeakers and fixing of posters and wall-chalking.

The order will remain in force for the period of two months within the territorial limits of Islamabad.

The district magistrate directed all assistant commissioners, magistrates and sub-divisional police officers to ensure strict implementation of the orders in the Islamabad Capital Territory.

Meanwhile, a high-level meeting of local administration reviewed necessary arrangements to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 in a befitting manner in Islamabad.

The meeting was presided over by the deputy commissioner and attended by the officials of capital police, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries, All Parties Hurriyet Conference and NGOs.

The meeting decided that the ICT administration would arrange a walk from Kulsoom Plaza to Parade Chowk, Blue Area on February 5 at 10am to express solidarity with the people of held Kashmir.

The walk is likely to be attended by the people from all walks of life.

The meeting also discussed traffic and security arrangements made for the occasion.
