Iranian envoy pays farewell call on President

ISLAMABAD, Jan 16: The outgoing ambassador of Iran, Seyed Serajeddin Mousavi, paid farewell call on President General Pervez Musharraf on Thursday.

The president expressed appreciation for the contribution of the Iranian ambassador in strengthening the cordial and brotherly relations between Iran and Pakistan.

Gen Musharraf said Pakistan and Iran share common religious and cultural bonds and “we value our relations with Iran at state, government and individual levels”.

The ambassador thanked the president, government and people of Pakistan for the hospitality and cooperation extended to him during his stay in the country.

He recalled his long association with Pakistan and said his tenure as Iranian envoy in the country had been pleasant and rewarding one.
