Strike against price hike
DHAKA, Jan 16: A few skirmishes in some places here and other parts of the country on Thursday marked the eight-hour hartal called by the Awami League in protest against the price hike of essentials and petroleum products.
Except for those few incidents, the shutdown was by and large peaceful across the country.
A huge contingent of riot police patrolled the city streets.
