MMA wants NA convened

Published January 16, 2003

ISLAMABAD, Jan 15: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has called upon the Jamali government to immediately convene the National Assembly session for holding debate on the discriminatory treatment meted out to Pakistanis living in American under its INS law.

According to the religio-political alliance, the convening of NA session was also necessary for framing a policy of national consensus on future relations with the United States.

The deputy secretary general of MMA, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, told Dawn on Wednesday that the alliance had already prepared a requisition by getting signatures of MNAs and was in the process of consulting other opposition parties for its submission to the NA secretariat.
