Pakistan need titles: Shahnaz

By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 15: Pakistan coach Shahnaz Sheikh said Tuesday that the upcoming Azlan Shah Tournament in Malaysia should help test a new team with eyes on Athens 2004.

He told Dawn that what Pakistan needed at this point of time were some title victories that would give the ailing sport a boost. “We badly need a win so that we can draw a line of action and start focusing on next year’s Olympics. We will be witnessing the National Championship in order to find back up players.”

The Azlan Shah provides us a good opportunity to gauge the team against such sides as Germany and Korea, he said.
