Saeed’s burst not enough

LAHORE, Jan 15: Despite a five-goal burst by Saeed Talha Guard Filters were beaten 6-5 1/2 by Sherwood in the  Samad Memorial Cup on Wednesday.

Maula Bakhsh and Shahzad Aziz scored three and  two  goals for the winners while Adnan Lone added a goal.

Saeed scored all five goals for the losers who had a 1/2 goal handicap.

Meanwhile,  the first four chukkers’ play in two matches  of the Lahore Polo Club Cup were played on Wednesday. The  remaining four chukkers will be played on Friday.

In  the first match, Askari Waters were leading 8-4  against Sunday TV. Shah Shamyl Alam scored four goals  while Omer Minhas (2), Shah Qublai Alam (1) and Taimur Mawaz Khan  (1) were the other scorers.

For Sunday TV, Sattar Niazi contributed three goals  while Malik Atif Yar Tiwana a goal.

Remounts were leading against Master Paints 6- 4 1/2.

Ahmad Khan (3), Asif Zahoor (1), Isfandyar  Pataudi (1) and Khurshid (1) were the scorers for the Remounts.

Master Paints are playing with the handicap advantage of  2 1/2 and scored two goals both by Pablo Bagnardi, an Argentinean.
