17 booked in raids

NAWABSHAH, Jan 15: Police booked 17 people and recovered 17 receipt books and Rs14,830 in cash from their possession on Tuesday.

The A-section police raided a spot near Sabzi Mandi and arrested two men — Mohammad Altaf and Mehmood Ahmed — and recovered three receipt books and Rs4,360 in cash from their possession.

In another raid by the B-section police near the Pathan Hotel, Hussaini road, six men — Nasrullah, Nadeem, Aslam, Arif, Saleem and Laeeq — were arrested for selling “Parchi prize bonds”.

The A-section police then raided a spot near Ghausia Masjid and arrested nine men — Afzal, Javed, Nazar, Gulzar, Hussain, Sabir, Ali, Jahazeb and Mansoor Ali.
