KHAIRPUR: 28 PPP activists booked

KHAIRPUR, Jan 15: The Pakistan Muslim League-F candidate for NA-216, Khairpur-II, Syed Javed Ali Shah Jilani, on Tuesday lodged an FIR with the Thari Mirwah police against 28 Pakistan People’s Party activists.

He said in the FIR that he was attacked near Sabar Rind union council while he was on his election campaign.

Bux Soomro, Ramaz Ali Siyal, Sultan, Altaf, Lal, Waryam and Mir Khan are among those nominated in the FIR.

The police have arrested Ali Bux, Ramaz Ali, Sultan and one other accused.

However, the district president, PPP, Sajid Ali Bambhan, told newsmen here that more than one dozen activists of the party had been arrested by the police.

Meanwhile, District Nazim Nafisa Shah imposed section 144 Cr. PC in the district and imposed ban on carrying arms and gathering of more than four persons.

Ninety-eight polling stations have been declared sensitive in the district.

There is one-to-one contest between the PML-F’s Javed Ali Shah and the PPP’s Syed Pyar Ali Shah Jilani.
