Asif saves Faisalabad

LAHORE, Jan 14: Asif Hussain struck an unbeaten 135 to rescue Faisalabad out of trouble against Servis Industries in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Group-I match at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad on Tuesday.

Faisalabad at one time were struggling at 111 for six but Asif and Farooq Iqbal (59) then combined to put on 136 runs for the unbroken seventh-wicket.

Asif’s 201-ball knock included 18 boundaries while Farooq hit nine fours in his 103-ball innings.

Veteran Sajid Ali scored a whirlwind 27-ball 50 as NBP were shot out for 224 in their first innings against Lahore Blues at Okara Gymkhana Ground.

Wapda pace trio of Kashif Raza (4-39), Sarfraz Ahmed (3-25) and Faisal Irfan (3-22) were on song as they skittled out Sargodha for exact 100 at Sports Stadium in Sargodha.

Wapda replied with 93 for two wickets.
