Mosque vandalized

Published January 15, 2003

PARIS, Jan 14: Mysterious persons have rummaged through the mosque at Nimes, leaving local religious and police officials wondering as to what they were after.

A police spokesman at Nimes — an ancient Roman city located 670kms south of Paris — said that the mosque was discovered today to have been “turned inside out” by the visitors who nevertheless, he affirmed, neither vandalized the establishment, nor stole anything.

“We were surprised that some expensive computer equipment was looked at, but wasn’t removed,” he stated.
