PML-N warns against US designs

ISLAMABAD, Jan 13: Information secretary and chairman national anti-corruption committee of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Mohammad Siddiqul Farooq has warned the nation against the true American designs about Pakistan.

In a statement issued here on Monday the PML-N leader said that the recent statements of American ambassador in India Robert Blackwill clearly indica-te that the United States took India as friend and Pakistan as its foe.

He said that the Pakistani high officials including Gen Musharraf were trying to hoodwink the people when they as a routine issue statements expressing sentiments of friendship for America thereby trying to plunge the nation into destruction.

He reminded that Gen Musharraf while declaring to join the forces with United States in war on terrorism on Sept 19, 2001 had said: “We have saved our Kashmir cause and nuclear programme and our friendship with the US had been strengthened”.

But, representing the real policy of the United States, its ambassador in New Delhi declared on Jan 12, 2003 in Indian capital and on Dec 4, 2002 in Srinagar, “America will continue its war on terrorism until the attacks against India (freedom fighter’s activities in occupied Kashmir) were not completely stopped”.

He further stated, “the militants in held Kashmir were murderers and terrorists and not the freedom fighters.”
