PESHAWAR, Jan 13: The Trust for Voluntary Organizations (TVO) has distributed 3,000 bags of relief items among the destitute at the Kotki Afghan refugee camps in the Bajaur Agency.

According to a press release issued here on Monday, the TVO chairman Azam Khan distributed non-food relief items including shoes, warm clothes, blankets and jackets. Funds for these items were provided by the Islamic Relief Agency.

The TVO, a government-funded donor agency, has started providing relief to Afghan refugees and in the first phase of its activity, it has provided relief items to refugees in the Bajaur Agency camps. Mr Azam said the Trust had planed to distribute relief in other refugee camps in NWFP and Balochistan.

In its second phase, the Trust would provide vocational training to Afghan refugees to enable them to support their families after returning to their country.

The Trust had also planned to introduce participatory community development programme
