LAHORE, Jan 12: Two brothers stabbed and killed a shopkeeper on refusal to a proposal at Jalal Colony in Hanjarwal on Sunday.

The police said Akhtar wanted to marry a neighbour, Hanifan Bibi, and he proposed her. Her younger brother, Muhammad Ramzan, 25, was opposed to the proposal.

Akhtar and his brother Ashraf exchanged harsh words with Ramzan over the issue and allegedly stabbed him. They escaped and the injured man was taken to hospital where he died.

The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy. A case was registered with no arrest.
