Doctors stage rally

SUKKUR, Jan 12: At least 100 doctors from various parts of Sukkur and Larkana divisions staged a demonstration in front of the local press club demanding confirmation of doctors appointed on contractual basis six months ago.

The protest was organized by the Sindh Contract Doctors Forum, Sukkur.

The protesters urged the government to pay their salaries without further delay.

Meanwhile, over 50 doctors from the Chandka Medical College, Larkana, on Sunday staged a demonstration in front of the Chief Minister House in Ghotki in this regard.

The protesters, handed over a memorandum to the employees of the CM House, who assured the doctors that the memorandum would be handed over to the chief minister soon.

They demanded confirmation of the doctors besides release of their salaries for the past 19 months.

Later, the protestors condemned the murder of Mumtaz Khoso, who was shot dead on Thursday in Sukkur and demanded the arrest of the culprits.

KILLED: The ongoing dispute between the Kalhoro and Wagha tribes claimed the life of one person while another was injured in Pano Aqil late Saturday night.

Kalhoro tribesmen attacked Haji Panjal Wagho village and resorted to firing, killing Pir Bakhsh.

Both the tribes have been clashing over a Karo Kari dispute for the past many months.

Representatives of the Wagha tribe, Ali Khan and Abdul Hakeem Wagho, told reporters at Pano Aqil on Sunday that the Kalhoro tribesmen had also taken away a tractor from their village.
