Wapda obtain three points
LAHORE, Jan 11: Servis Industries held National Bank of Pakistan to a draw in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Group-I match at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
NBP finally got a chance to bat after Servis batted on all four days of this fog-hit tie.
However, the bankers were in for some shocks when the first four wickets fell for 60 runs. Saeed Anwar, the Pakistan opener, shone briefly to make 30 off 38 deliveries, which included three fours and one six.
NBP were 70 for four after 20 overs when the match was called off.
Earlier, Servis, resuming at 141 for eight, were all out for 150 with National Bank’s lanky speedster Shabbir Ahmed finishing with six for 55.
Wapda succeeded where others failed. They secured three points after taking first innings lead over Faisalabad at Iqbal Stadium.
Tailender Sarfraz Ahmed struck 52 as Wapda scored 190 for eight, after beginning the final day at the overnight tally one for no loss, in reply Faisalabad’s 163.
Sargodha failed to take points despite a poor batting display by Lahore Blues at Sports Stadium in Sargodha.
Lahore Blues were tottering at 88 for seven in reply to the hosts’ first innings total of 174.
