BORMIO (Italy), Jan 11: Defending champion Stephan Eberharter rediscovered his winning form after injury on Saturday when he triumphed in a World Cup downhill race.
The Austrian, who had not won a race since Dec 14 — the day before he suffered a knee injury — seized back the lead in the overall World Cup standings with his victory in one minute 59.27 seconds.
His team mate Michael Walchhofer was second, 0.48 seconds behind, as the Austrian team got back on track after a streak of eight races without a win.
American Daron Rahlves was third in 2:00.04. His team mate Bode Miller, who had briefly led the overall standings, was eighth.—Reuters
