France to set up dispensary for Palestinians

By Our Correspondent

PARIS, Jan 11: The French foreign ministry has decided to finance a special dispensary an the West Bank town of Nablus. It is to be operated by a French organization, Medecins du Monde (Doctors of the World).

The structure will provide local Palestinians access to elementary health care and, according to a foreign ministry estimate, should immediately be able to handle some 25,000 patients.

A spokesman for the ministry said on Friday a decision to provide 105,000 dollars for the venture was “taken as part of our constant effort, notably within the framework of the European Union, to ameliorate the humanitarian situation of the Palestinian people”.
