Unlucky Ali misses century


KARACHI, Jan 10: Helped by M.Ali’s brilliant 95 GBBS Metroville trounced GBSS Hasrat Mohani by 116 runs in the the Siemens Inter-School Cup on Thursday.

Ali unlucky to miss the coveted figure by five runs ensured GBSS Metroville amass 307 for four wickets in their allotted 40 overs. He received splendid support from Nasir who cracked a fine 72.

GBSS Hasrat Mohani were bowled out for 191. Nadeem (54) batted with confidence for his team.

But the day’s most exciting match was FF Public School’s five runs triumph over Shaheen School in a low-scoring match.

Pak Al Jadeed bt GBSS 8 Korangti by 29 runs.

Pak Al Jadeed 195 for all out in 40 overs (Ali Asad 64, M. Hasan 25, Abdul Jabbar 23; Adnan Muhammad 4-36, Naveed Ahmed 3-27).

G.B.S.S. 8 Korangi 166 for all out in 37.4 overs.

(Faisal Ahmed 30, Abdul Rasheed 25; Shiraz Ali 3-16, Ali Asad 2-23.

FF Public School bt Shaheen School by five runs

F.F. Public School 140 for all out in 40 overs.
