ISLAMABAD, Jan 10: Ambassadors of Japan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan called on National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain here on Friday and exchanged views on matters pertaining to bilateral relations.

Minoru Shibuya, Ambassador of Japan, conveyed warm congratulations to Amir Hussain on his election as Speaker of the National Assembly, on his behalf as well as on behalf of presiding officer of Japanese parliament and government of Japan.

The NA Speaker appreciated the cooperation and financial assistance extended by Japan to various projects and welfare schemes launched in various parts of Pakistan.

Japanese goods have a strong and visible presence in Pakistani markets, he said, adding that Pakistan would like to see an enhanced level of Japanese investment.

“Pakistan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship group is being revived and frequent exchange of visits of parliamentary delegations would help in establishing close relationship between the two parliaments,” he said.

“We are looking forward to receiving our friendly Japanese parliamentarians during this year, which is the year of golden jubilee celebrations of Pakistan-Japan diplomatic relations,” the NA Speaker said.

Bekzhasar N. Nasbave, Ambassador of Kazakhstan, informed the NA Speaker that President of Kazakhstan Nur Sultan Nazarbaev will be visiting Pakistan in March this year.

“The visit of the Kazakh President will further strengthen fraternal relations between the two brotherly Muslim countries,” he said.

He said the issue of stricter visa procedure for Pakistani students and businessmen would be resolved soon.

Eynulla Yadulla Oglu Madatli, Ambassador of Azerbaijan, in his meeting invited a parliamentary delegation to visit his country.

He emphasized the need for an exchange of visits of parliamentary delegations every year. —APP
