Pick-up hijacked

LANDI KOTAL, Jan 10: A pick-up was hijacked on gunpoint on Friday in the Kum Shalman area, some 25km from here.

Sources told Dawn that the vehicle, bearing a registration number of Peshawar (B-5028) had been hired from Landi Kotal bazaar by some five people, pretending to be college students, on the pretext of sightseeing in the area.

When the pick-up reached Yahka Cheena, two of the passengers pulled out guns, pushed the driver out and sped away from the scene.
