KARACHI: Police told to control crime


KARACHI, Jan 10: Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Khan Mahar on Friday directed police and other law-enforcement agencies to control crime so that the confidence of people could be restored.

He was presiding over a meeting on law and order at the Chief Minister’s House.

The IGP and the Rangers DG gave a presentation on law and order situation and the steps taken to control crimes.

The meeting discussed incidents of carjackings, sectarian and terrorist activities besides tribal clashes, kidnapping for ransom and highway robberies, especially in Jacobabad and Shikarpur districts.

The IGP said said that 39 check-posts were being set up at the entry points of the city.—PPI
