KARACHI, Jan 5: Brilliant centuries by Irfan Ali and Mohammad Waheed were highlights of the matches in the inaugural Abdul Quddoos Sheikh Memorial Multinational Cricket Tournament played on Sunday.
Opener Irfan struck 110 as Dawn Group easily brushed aside Faisal Textile by 52 runs at UBL Sports Complex ‘B’ Ground. Irfan was ably supported by Abdul Hameed (67) in a second-wicket stand worth 177.
Earlier, Waheed produced a superb all-round performance to help Wackenhut thrash Project Manager by 109 runs at the same venue. He made an unbeaten 115 and then took three for 24.
Leg-spinner Rahim Suleman captured four for 14 in four overs in Aga Khan University Staff’s comprehensive nine-wicket defeat of Islamic Investment Bank at AKU Ground.
In other matches, played at NBP Sports Complex, Faysal Bank beat Haseen Habib by four wickets while NBP Whites overcame Bolan Bank by 58 runs.
