LAHORE, Jan 4: Despite an unbeaten 64 by Sohail Idrees, Lahore Blues were struggling for first innings lead against Servis Industries in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Group-I match at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
At the stumps, the home team were 173 for seven, in reply of Servis’s first innings total of 252.
The match started after lunch as heavy fog continued to cause problems for the third day running.
In other matches of the group, a fine performance by leg-spinner Farooq Iqbal enabled Faisalabad earn an innings and 137-run win against Sargodha inside three days at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
Needing 248 to avert an innings defeat, Sargodha were bundled out for 110 in their second innings with Farooq picking up six for 33. He finished with a match bag of 10 for 77.
At Lahore Country Club, not a single ball was bowled between National Bank and Wapda’s match due to fog. The first day was also abandoned. Only a 35 overs’ play could be possible on second day on Friday in which NBP were in trouble with a total of 104 for seven. Sarfraz Ahmed picked up four wickets for 32.
