Double success for Raheela

LAHORE, Jan 4: Raheela Bano of Wapda, won both the events held in the national women cycling championship at the country’s only velodrome in Nishtar Park on Saturday.

Raheela took three minutes 59.5 seconds to win the 2000 metres individual pursuit.

 Ayesha Amin of Punjab took second position while Ghazala Abbas of Wapda came in third.

Raheela won the second event of 666 metres time trial when she covered the distance in one minute 9.78 seconds. However, she faced a tough challenge from Ayesha Nazir of Punjab who completed the distance with a difference of only six seconds to claim second spot while Ghazala finished third.

Results: 2000 metres individual pursuit: Miss Raheela Bano (Wapda) 3 minutes 59.5 seconds; Miss Ayesha Amin (Punjab); Miss Ghazala Abbas (Wapda), Miss Misbah (Wapda); Miss Ayesha Nazir (Punjab); Miss Saima (Punjab). 666 metres time trial: Miss Raheela Bano (Wapda) 1m 9.78 seconds; Miss Ayesha Nazir (Punjab); Miss Ghazala Abbas (Wapda); Miss Misbah (Wapda); Miss Ayesha Amin (Punjab); Miss Saima (Punjab).
