Policeman killed

KHAIRPUR, Jan 4: A police head constable, Ghulam Sarwar Shaikh, died on Friday after his gun accidentally went off.

He was on his way to Rapri on a motorcycle along with two of his friends when the incident occurred.

He was immediately rushed to the Gambat Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Gambat police have taken the friends, who were with him at the time of the incident, into custody after registration of an FIR against them by the deceased’s relatives.

ACCIDENT: A person was killed and four others were injured late Friday night in a head-on collision between a passenger wagon and a truck near the Babarloi by-pass in Kingri taluka.

A truck (GT-3496), collided with a trailer and a wagon (PA- 1927), ramming it into a truck.

As a result of the accident, Azizullah Maganhar was killed on the spot while Farooq Ghumro, Moosa Ghumro and the truck driver were injured. They were later taken to the Civil Hospital, Sukkur.
