HYDERABAD, Jan 4: The Nazim and the councillors of union council-10, Hyderabad city, have said that their entire area has been converted into a refuse dump.
In a joint statement issued here on Saturday, the Nazim, Ayaz Ahmed Arain, and the councillors, Atiqur Rehman, Hidayat Hussain, Shamshad Kanwal, Lakho Kachhi and others said that the sanitary staff of the Hyderabad city taluka council had turned a blind eye to the miseries of the people.
They said that due to lethargy of the sanitary staff, heaps of garbage could be seen everywhere in the area and gutters and drains were overflowing.
They said that the sanitary staff of the city taluka council was least bothered about the predicament of the people and paid no attention to the instructions of the councillors.
They appealed the taluka Nazim, Haji Moinuddin Shaikh, to visit the area and see things for himself.
WORKERS’ UNION: The office-bearers of the Hyderabad Taluka Council Workers’ Union (CBA) have criticized the town officer, infrastructure, Kela Ram, for interfering in the affairs of the union and playing a partisan role.
In a joint statement issued here on Saturday, the chairman of the union, Chundgilal, senior vice-president, Shamoon Sharif and acting general secretary, Jarar Ahmed Jafri, said that Kela Ram was patronizing a small group of the workers and promoting illegal activities in the union.
They warned that the union reserved the right to protest.
The union leaders demanded of the taluka municipal administration and the DCO, Hyderabad, to take notice of the activities of Kela Ram.
OPEN KATCHEHRY: The DPO, Hyderabad, A. D. Khwaja, held an open katchehry in Unit No8, Latifabad, near Siddiqui Plaza, on Friday.
The ASP, Latifabad, Mujahid Akbar Aziz, conducted the proceedings of the katchehry.
The DPO heard the problems of the people and issued directives.
WORKSHOP: The six-day orientation workshop, organized by the Sindh directorate of research and assessment, concluded at the Government Elementary College of Education here the other day, reports our Bureau.
A total number of 107 teachers, belonging to Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Badin, Dadu, and Thatta districts, were trained in eight primary school subjects, including instructional technology, by 14 resource persons.
These teachers will train 12,000 primary school teachers in Sindh.
PAF: The officer commanding, PAF Information and Selection Centre, Hyderabad, has informed that the PAF has announced the result of Airmen Entry No 2003-10.
Tanveer Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmad, and Ashiq Ali, son of Jan Mohammad, have been selected for the post of Aero Technicians and Mohammad Farooq, son of Mubarak Shah, Zia Noor, son of Noor Mohammad, Saleemullah, son of Mohammad Bashir, and Zaheer Hussain, son of Asmat, have been selected for the post of Aero Supports.
The selected persons have been advised to report at the PAF centre on Jan 24.
