US biggest terrorist state, says MMA

QUETTA, Jan 3: The Muttahidda Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) observed a protest day against the possible US attack on Iraq, presence of FBI agents in Pakistan and activities of the US intelligence agency in different parts of the country, here on Friday.

A protest procession was taken out in Quetta in which a large number of MMA workers and supporters participated.

MMA leaders Maulana Noor Mohammad, Allama Yaqoob Tawasali, Dr Ibrahim and others led the procession.

Provincial Minister for Information and Local Government, Balochistan, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed Shahroodi was also present on the occasion.

The procession was taken out from the Markazi Jamia Masjid. The participants of the procession marched through different roads of the city carrying placards inscribing with anti-US slogans.

During the march, the MMA activists chanted slogans which included “FBI quit Pakistan”, “FBI stop kidnapping of innocent people in Pakistan,” “the United States is the biggest terrorist state of the world,” etc.

After taking round of the city the workers and supporters of the MMA gathered at the Manan Chowk where the MMA leaders addressed them.

Hafiz Hussain Ahmed Shahroodi, Provincial Minister for Information and Local government, while speaking on the occasion, condemned the US policies against the Muslim countries and said that despite opposition from almost the whole world, US President Bush wanted to attack Iraq.

He blasted the unlawful activities of US intelligence agency FBI in Pakistan and said that its agents were arresting innocent people without any justification.

He said the people of Pakistan had the right to raise their voices against such activities of the FBI agents in Quetta and other parts of the country.

He said that United States itself was an international terrorist and was supporting the terrorism of Jews and Indians in Palestine and occupied Kashmir.

He urged the Muslim countries to forget their differences and unite at one platform against the enemy of Islam who wanted to destroy them.

Maulana Noor Mohammad, a central leader of the MMA and member of the National Assembly, speaking on the occasion criticized President Musharraf for his pro-US policies.

He said it was Gen Musharraf who provided all sorts of facilities to the United States for its attack on Afghanistan and helped US remove the Taliban government.

“We do not recognize President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister of Pakistan who are stooges of the United States,” Maulana Noor Mohammad declared.

Dr Ibrahim of Jammat-i-Islami, Balochistan, Maulana Abdul Mateen Akhuandzada, Allama Yaqoob Tawasali, Abdul Qadir Luni and others also spoke on the occasion and said that the policies adopted by Bush administration against the Muslim countries threatened the world peace.
