LAHORE, Jan 2: A fiery exhibition of pace bowling by Lahore Blues’ Mohammad Khalil sent two Servis Industries batsmen to hospital on a curtailed first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Group-I tie at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.

Khalil forced opener Rizwan Ahmed (31) and Sufian Munir (51) to retire hurt as Servis limped to 142 for four.

Rizwan was hit on the nose after adding 70 for the third wicket with Sufian, who himself suffered a painful blow on his left elbow.

Khalil took all four wickets for 54 runs in 22 overs.

In other matches of this group, Sargodha were all out for 122 against Faisalabad at Iqbal Stadium.

National Bank were not so lucky when the first day of their game against Wapda was abandoned with a ball being bowled because of fog at Lahore Country Club in Muridke.
