Bail confirmation date extended

TIMERGARA, Jan 2: A local court here on Thursday extended the date to confirm the bail before arrest of 10 persons who are accused of attacking a Pesco office and beating Timergara XEN Sardar Bahadar Khan.

A few days ago, a mob attacked the Pesco office to show their anger against the massive loadshedding and imposing huge fine on local consumers.

The Pesco authorities had lodged an FIR against the Jamaat-i-Islami General Secretary of Dir district, Aizazul Mulk, and nine others, but all of them got pre-arrest bail from a court in Timergara. The court gave Jan 2 for the confirmation of bail.

On Thursday, workers and leaders of the Wapda Employees Union Hydro had a plan to stage a protest demonstration to press the government for the arrest of the accused.

On the other hand the JI leaders assembled their workers from other districts to hold a protest demonstration if the pre-arrest bail was not extended.

There was a chance of conflict between them when the accused come to the court for the confirmation of their pre-arrest bail. But the court extended the date to Jan 7.
