BADIN, Jan 2: The Directly Observed Treatment (DOT) programme for tuberculosis (TB) will be launched in Badin district from Jan 5 with the assistance of the federal government to reduce the incidence of the disease.
This was stated by the deputy director of the TB control programme, Sindh, Dr Nazeer Shaikh, on Monday while speaking to the participants of the concluding session of the six-day TB DOT workshop at the office of the EDO (health).
He said that the disease affected about 88,000 people in Sindh.
Shaikh said that the federal government had started a TB preventive campaign.
