SUKKUR, Jan 2: The All Parties Conference has decided to hold hunger strike on Jan 5 at the press club and a sit-in in front of the Taluka office on Jan 7 to protest over the deteriorating civic conditions and the law and order situation in Sukkur.

The APC decided this in a meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Maulana Ubaidullah Bhutto, on Thursday.

The APC also decided to hold a meeting at the Clock Tower on Jan 9.

The APC speakers deplored the fact that rain, which had lasted for only a short spell, had damaged the city roads and they had not been fixed as yet, while the people at the helm of affairs were making hollow claims.

They held the Taluka Nazim and the district Naib Nazim equally responsible for the worst conditions prevailing in Sukkur city.

They appealed to the Sindh government for taking immediate notice of all this.

They criticized the Pakistan Railway authorities for demolishing the houses of poor people under the orders of a retired army major.

The APC meeting was attended by a large number of social and political organizations.

Later, the participants staged a sit-in and blocked the Shikarpur road in protest.

PML(Q): PML (Q) Sindh President and Federal Railways Minister Ghous Baksh Khan Mahar has directed for completing the reorganization of the party in Sukkur district within two months.

This was stated in a briefing to newsmen by the newly-inducted general secretary of the PML(Q), Sukkur, Amir Bux Mahar, on Thursday.

Mr Amir said that the PML Sindh chief had called for establishing contacts with all other PML factions without any reservations so that they could be brought under the umbrella of the PML(Q).

KIDNAPPED: Fifteen armed men raided a medical store in Kashmor, Jacobabad district, kidnapped its owner, Nanak Ram, and fled towards Balochistan on Thursday.
