Balochistan Academician passes away

QUETTA, Jan 2: Renowned educationist and a member of the Balochistan Public Service Commission, Prof Shukarullah Baloch, died here on Thursday. He was 64.

He was ill for the last few months. A large number of senior government officers, professors and others attended his funeral.

Beginning his career as lecturer of economics in late 60s. Later, he joined Balochistan University and remained head of the economics department for several years.

He also remained director NIPA, Balochistan. After retirement he was appointed as member of the Balochistan Public Service Commission a position he retained till his death.

Provincial governor Justice Amirul Mulk Mengal, Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf, and other politicians and officials have condoled his death.
