ISLAMABAD, Dec 31: The Enrolment Committee of the Pakistan Bar Council has enrolled six lawyers from Karachi and one from Hyderabad as Advocates of Supreme Court.

In this connection, a meeting of the committee was held in Karachi on Saturday which was presided over by Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and attended by Member Pakistan Bar Council, Rasheed A. Razvi Advocate.

The committee took up 12 applications (out of 19) seeking enrolment as Advocate of the Supreme Court. It enrolled 7 applicants after interviewing them, and finding their case in order.

The persons so enrolled are Ghulam Rasool Qureshi from Hyderabad, Abass Ali, Badaruddin F. Vellani, Dr Muhammad Farogh Naseem, Khalid Javed, Amanullah Jamani and Ismat-ul-Nisa, from Karachi.

The other advocates (applicants) were not found up to the mark and, as such, their cases were deferred for further consideration in future.

The case of another applicant, being not present, was also deferred until the next meeting at Karachi.

However, cases of the remaining 7 applicants could not be taken up for want of time. These will be taken up at the committee’s next meeting in Quetta. —APP
