LARKANA, Dec 31: A group of pensioners belonging to the Larkana Municipal Corporation (LMC) held a protest demonstration outside the district council hall on Tuesday against the LMC administration for refusing to pay them pensions for the last 10 months.

The president of the union, Mohammed Ali Shaikh, alleged that the Sindh governor had released the pension amount but the LMC management was refusing to pay it to the pensioners.

They accused the Taluka Nazim for issuing threats of putting them behind bars if they protested.

They said the protest would continue till the payments were made.

ASI DISMISSED: The district police officer (DPO), Larkana, Abdul Sattar Detho, on Tuesday dismissed the assistant sub-inspector.

The ASI, Liaquat Mughiri, was dismissed over the charges of negligence in duty and public complaints, police said.
