Zaman scores gallant century

LAHORE, Dec 29: A gallant innings of 126 by Mohammad Zaman kept Faisalabad’s hopes alive in the Quaid Trophy Group-I match against National Bank at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Sunday.

Faisalabad, who had conceded 123-run first innings lead, recovered to make 281 in the second innings. Left-arm fast bowler Zahid Saeed claimed six for 77.

Pacer Moazzam Ali then took three wickets as the bankers reached 80 for four at stumps after being a target of 158.

Hosts Sargodha gained a lead of 88 runs against Servis Industries thanks to tailender Ahmed Hayat’s 84.

Servis lost four wickets for 31 with Ahmed again excelling to take three for 14. The visitors still require 58 runs to avert an innings defeat.

Atiq-ur-Rehman missed scoring a century by a solitary run as Wapda were in sight of victory against Lahore Blues in Okara.
