KARACHI, Dec 29: A sensible knock of 74 by Ahmer Saeed enabled Pak PWD take a slender but vital 41-run first innings lead over Karachi Whites on the third day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Group-II fixture at National Stadium on Sunday.
PWD eventually reached 343 in reply to the hosts’ 302 after resuming at 237 for five. Captain Iqbal Imam scored 53 while adding 98 for the sixth wicket with Ahmer.
Karachi Whites wiped off the deficit and were in front at stumps by 99 runs with eight second innings wickets intact.
Former Test off-spinner Arshad Khan completed a remarkable match by claiming 15 wickets for 111 runs as Allied Bank Limited (ABL) recorded their second victory in the championship, thrashing Bahawalpur by 10 wickets at Bahawalpur Stadium.
The ABL skipper followed his first innings haul of seven for 25 with eight for 86 in 40 overs as Bahawalpur were all out for 257 in their second knock.
Hosts Multan also achieved a three-day win, overwhelming Dadu by innings and 11 runs at Multan Cricket Stadium.
