KARACHI, Dec 29: The Nazim of Liaquatabad Town, Dr Pervaiz Mahmood, has vowed to make the area a model town in regard to beautification, greenery and cleanliness.
“The removal of encroachments from the town is part of this plan, for which the town administration is grateful to trade bodies and associations for their cooperation,” he said at an Eid Millan party organized by the S.M. Taufiq Road Traders’ Association on Saturday night.
Dr Mahmood said that the Sabza Zar Park and stadium projects were near completion and would help neutralize the negative image of the town. He appealed to the traders to cooperate with the administration to eradicate the menace of land mafia and help remove encroachments on pavements, footpaths and other places, so that people could move around easily.
Chairman of the Association Syed Azfar Rizvi assured the Nazim that the traders would help the town administration in its efforts to beautify the area. He said if the administration patronized the area, it would emerge as a major cottage industry centre of the country.—APP
