LAHORE, Dec 28: Pakistan star Saeed Anwar scored a half century and pacer Rana Naveed-ul-Hasan took five wickets in the Group-I matches of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy on Saturday.
Saeed, bidding for place in the national squad for World Cup, made 58 as National Bank obtained a lead of 123 runs over Faisalabad at Iqbal Stadium, according to details available here.
NBP reached 295 in their first innings in reply to Faisalabad’s 172 with skipper Mushtaq Ahmed (62) and all-rounder Qaiser Abbas (87) also showing good form.
Meanwhile at Gymkhana Ground in Okara, Wapda’s Rana Naveed claimed five for 49 as Lahore Blues were bowled out for 180 in their first innings in response to the powermen’s 243.
At Sports Stadium in Sargodha, Servis Industries collected 286 in their first innings after resuming the day at 217 for six. At stumps, Sargodha were 163 for six.
