Karachi clinch Board title

KARACHI, Dec 27: Karachi Intermediate Board won the Pakistan Intermediate Championship, after inflicting a 52-run defeat over Board of Secondary Intermediate Education, Larkhana, played at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on Thursday night.

Winning the toss and batting first, Karachi Intermediate Board scored 196 for eight wickets in their 40 allotted overs with Naveed Khan (55), Khurram Ibrahim (51) and Ibrahim Akhtar (43), among the runs. Left-arm leg-spinner Abdul Sattar bagged four wickets for 32 runs for the visitors.

Chasing 197 runs for victory, Board of Secondary Intermediate Education, Larkhana were bowled out for 144. Allah Buksh top scored for his side with 35 runs. Wasim Hussain (22), Ali Ahmed (21) and Saifullah (20) also made useful contributions, but this was not enough to see their team through to victory.

Right-arm leg-spinner Amanullah three for 17, Akhtar Rahim two for 13 and Vinood Ramesh two for 31, were among the wickets for the winners.
