Command and Staff College convocation held
QUETTA, Dec 27: Balochistan Governor Justice (retd) Amirul Mulk Mengal has urged the future military leaders to continue improving their professional knowledge and protect the country’s ideological and geographical frontiers.
Speaking at the 25th annual convocation of the Command and Staff College here on Friday, he said that Pakistan was an ideological country, which placed additional demand on the armed forces.
He said: “The planning and conduct of war today cannot be executed in isolation as rapid technological advancement and an unprecedented explosion in the field of knowledge have transformed the study of the art of warfare into a highly specialized subject.”
“Education must be aimed at stimulating the rational mind and creating intellectuality in an individual,” he maintained.
He expressed satisfaction that the Command and Staff College was paying special attention to this aspect and producing leaders with commitment.
The governor felicitated all student officers including allied ones for the successful completion of their course and for obtaining degrees in Bachelor of Science (Honours) in war studies.
Earlier, Commandant of the College, Maj-Gen Mohsin Kamal in his welcome address highlighted the aims and objectives of the Staff College course and performance of the college.
Vice-Chancellor Balochistan University, Justice (retd) M.A. Rashid also spoke on the occasion and hoped that all degree-holders would continue to uphold the reputation of their Alma Mater.
Later, the governor conferred Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in war studies to the officers of the Command and Staff College.
