PESHAWAR, Dec 27: Shabab-i-Milli, a sister organisation of Jamaat-i-Islami, held a protest demonstration against the imminent US attack on Iraq, here on Friday.

The protest rally started from Nishtarabad after Friday prayers which ended in Hashtnagri where the participants also staged a protest demo. Sabir Hussain Awan, an MNA of the Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal, led the rally.

About 300 demonstrators, holding placards and banners, took part in the rally and shouted slogans against US President George Bush.

Addressing the rally, Sabir Hussain Awan termed America the “world number one terrorist”, saying the people of Iraq would teach an unforgettable lesson to the US forces.

He said the US government had adopted double standards and wanted to disarm Iraq while it gave a free hand to Israel which manufactured nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.

He said the US had stationed its forces in Afghanistan and the Gulf countries to capture oil resources in the Middle East and Central Asia.

He said peace could not be restored to the Middle East and other parts of the world unless Israel withdrew its forces from the occupied Arab territories and stopped the genocide of Palestinian.

He urged the Muslims to unite against the possible US aggression against the people of Iraq. He appealed to the people to observe a protest day on March 3.
