Pakistan XI defeat Customs


KARACHI, Dec 26: A Rest of Pakistan XI beat Customs XI by 49 runs in a day/night cricket match t National Stadium to commemorate the birth of Father of Nation Quaid-i-Azam on Wednesday night .

Former international Ghulam Ali played a pivotal role in side’s victory at National Stadium. He slammed 47 off 73 balls with three boundaries and later claimed three wickets for 16 runs with his gentle medium-pacers to clinch the Man-of-the-Match award.

Batting first after skipper Moin Khan won the toss, Pakistan XI reached 221 for six in 40 overs. Rashid Latif smashed an unbeaten 50 off 49 deliveries with the help of three fours and a six.

Imran Farhat blasted five fours in making 28 and Moin contributed 20.

Azhar Shafiq captured three for 33 in eight overs.

Customs, in reply, were restricted to 179 for nine in their 40 overs with Naseem Khan hammering a defiant undefeated 66 off 76 balls. He hit eight fours. Shadab Kabir scored 36 with six hits to the fence.
