KARACHI, Dec 24: Several current and past cricket stars will be seen in action on Wednesday when former national champions Pakistan Customs take on Rest of Pakistan XI in a day/night fixture at National Stadium to commemorate the 126th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
Ex-Pakistan captains Moin Khan, Rashid Latif and Saeed Anwar are prominent personalities in the Rest of Pakistan XI side. Former Test stalwarts like to seen in action are Shoaib Mohammad, Asif Mujtaba and Mansoor Akhtar.
Aamir Bashir leads the Customs squad, which also includes ex-Test opener Shadab Kabir.
Additional Collectors of Customs (Appraisement), S.M. Tariq Huda, said at press briefing on Tuesday that the basic purpose of staging this match was to raise funds for Customs team and the Customs Cricket Academy, which was formed in 1999.
Collector of Customs (Appraisement), Abdul Waheed Khan, will be the chief guest and will distribute awards to the players at the conclusion of the match. The 40 overs per side match will start at 5.00pm.
