Police donate blood, funds to Rescue-15

KOHAT, Dec 24: The police on Tuesday donated Rs40,000 and 43 pints of blood to Rescue-15 blood bank.

At a function organized by the senior superintendent of police, Abid Ali Khan, and Tanzim Khidmat-i-Khalq, philanthropists donated Rs108,000 for the purchase of equipment for checking of blood group when the police chief called for their help. The SSP, District Nazim Malik Asad Khan others donated their blood.

The patron in chief of the Tanzim, Manzoor Ahmed Paracha and the Nazim said more funds were needed for the redress of the problems of the poor.

Manzoor said his organization had arranged heart bypass operation of an orphan and cancer treatment of a minor girl with Rs800,000 besides starting stipends for poor students in the Information Technology University during December. He promised to ensure regular disbursement of running expenditure for Rescue-15.

Malik Asad said efforts were on to construct a shelter home for women languishing in the jail because of fear of life although they had completed their sentences. A doctor claimed that most of the blood tests conducted in the hospital laboratories were wrong, which led to spreading diseases like hepatitis and Aids.

The SSP said the Rescue-15 during two months had addressed 16,006 complaints regarding police help, accidents, free legal aid, vehicle verification, registration of FIRs, women’s complaints, sui  gas, electricity, telephone and municipality, besides health services.
