‘Team needs strong management’

LAHORE, Dec 23: Chairman of national cricket selection committee Wasim Bari stressed the need for a strong team management if the Pakistan are to do well in the World Cup in South Africa.

The given the different background of the players, it was imperative that management deal with each player according to his attitude, Bari said here on Monday.

Questioned about the composition of national squad for the upcoming global event, he was of the view that the team should have more all-rounders so that the batting goes down right till the last man.

Bari said the team also require a wicket-keeper/batsman who can come handy in the role of pinch-hitter. “The one-day game does not need specialist wicket-keeper but rather a stumper who can wield his bat and play all kinds of unorthodox shots.”—APP
