Tobacco growers

By Our Correspondent

SWABI, Dec 23: The Lakson Tobacco Company (LTC) and the Pakistan Tobacco Company (PTC) have warned the tobacco growers to stop cultivating   Virginia and White Patta tobacco because of a reduction in the purchase quotas of the companies.

At a meeting between the officials of the two companies and the tobacco   growers, held in  Firdousabad, Charbagh, here on Sunday, the LTC and PTC officials told the growers that before cultivating the tobacco crop, they must consider the purchase quota of the companies for the year 2003, as the tobacco demand had reduced by 36.98 per cent as compared to that of 2002.
