Quake jolts Chitral

PESHAWAR, Dec 23: A moderate earthquake shook northern Pakistan on Monday along border with Afghanistan, although there were no immediate reports of any casualties, officials said.

Tremors lasting a few seconds were felt at 5:13am in Chitral at the foot of the Hindukush mountain range, officials at the seismological department here said.

They recorded the quake’s intensity at 5 on the Richter scale and said its epicentre was located in the Hindukush.—AFP
